SON 50 PinDear School of Nursing Alumni,

Suffolk County Community College graciously invites you to take part in the School of Nursing 50th Pinning Ceremony. From 1965 to 2015 Suffolk County Community College School of Nursing has provided excellence in Nursing education. Our strong tradition of training over 8,580 graduates with nearly 83% living and working in New York State is unmatched. We need your support to celebrate this important milestone.

By now you should have received your Save the Date for Suffolk County Community College, School of Nursing 50th Pinning Ceremony on Friday, May 15, 2015, 7:00 PM. Our special celebration will include over 1,000 current and future nurses, educators, industry leaders, Suffolk County families and friends. We are asking alumni to participate in the School of Nursing 50th Pinning Ceremony by passing the torch to our newest graduates during the pledge and electric “candle lighting.” Alumni starting with the class of 1965 to our most recent 2014 class will lead the procession of current May graduates.

We are designing a commemorative journal to include the program for the evening, a tribute to the history of nursing from the 1960’s through today, and a glimpse into the future of nursing in the 21st century.
